CESTiCC project on wildlife detection systems featured on TV in Idaho
Dr. Marcel Huijser’s research project, “Reliability and Meta-Analyses of the Effectiveness of Animal Detection Systems in Reducing Vehicle Speed and Collisions with Large Animals” was featured on KREM TV in Idaho. The project utilizes an innovative Doppler radar and thermal imaging systems to detect animals crossing roadways and then alerts drivers with warning lights. This radar system has the potential to greatly reduce collisions with large animals, which can save not only lives, but a great deal of state and private money.
