Jenny Liu and Xavier Schlee present for Fairbanks Transportation Infrastructure Committee
Every Thursday Morning from 7-8 AM at Denny’s restaurant in Fairbanks, the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Transportation Infrastructure Committee meets. On Thursday, October 6Jenny Liu and Xavier Schlee gave a presentation for this committee entitled, “High Abrasion-resistant and Long-lasting Concrete.” The presentation introduced a new research project whose goal is to create a highly abrasion resistant concrete mix design with a reduced cost and an increased life span to address some Alaska’s unique challenges, such as studded tire wear and shoving of high-traffic areas and roundabouts. Both presenters are active officers for the Alaska chapter of the American Concrete Institute and are collaborating on this project.
