Dr. Xiong Zhang presents at AEG National Annual Conference

The 2014 Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists National Annual Conference was held in Scottsdale, Arizona from September 20 - 28, 2014. For the first time in the AEG conference history, Unsaturated Soils made it as one of the topics of interest. Dr. Xiong Zhang presented on four topics(as seen below) in the Unsaturated Soils symposium and looked for potential projects/collaborations:

1. Use of Wicking Fabric to Prevent Frost Heave in Alaskan Pavements;

2. Modeling Residential Buildings on Expansive Soils in Response to Climatic Conditions;

3. Use of Modified State Surface Approach to Study Elasto-plastic Behavior for Unsaturated Soils;

4. An Optical Method to Measure Volume Changes of Unsaturated Soil Specimens during Triaxial Testing
