CESTiCC researcher Dr. Marcel Huijser from Western Transportation Institute attended the 2016 Infra Eco Network Europe (IENE), which was held in Lyon, France, August 30 to September 2. He presented his research on “The reliability and effectiveness of a radar based animal detection system and road crossing behavior of large ungulates” in a technical session entitled New Prevention Technologies. His presentation was based on the work from his on-going project, “Reliability and Meta-analyses of the Effectiveness of Animal Detection Systems in Reducing Vehicle Speed and Collisions with Large Animals.” Dr. Huijser’s work focuses on practical solutions related to the interaction between roads and the natural environment. Keep up the good work, Marcel!
