Sponsoring and Presenting at NTTC
On September 22-25, CESTiCC sponsored the 17th Annual National Tribal Transportation Conference in Anchorage, AK. The conference is hosted by Alaska Tribal Technical Assistance Program, a program funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration to assist tribal governments in developing and managing their transportation programs. CESTiCC’s director Jenny Liu along with Bob McHattie and Anthony Mullin presented on the “Evaluation of Pavement Preservation Treatments in Cold Regions.”
Pavement preservation is a systematic long term approach at a network level to enhance pavement performance by using integrated, cost effective treatments that extend the service life of pavements, enhance safety, promote energy savings, and best meets motorists’ expectations. Many countries, states, provinces, and local municipalities are implementing a pavement preservation program. Many pavement preservation techniques may not be suitable in cold regions where logistics impact the viability of treatments due to increased cost and timing constraints or where projects are in remote locations which limit the types of treatments that might be considered.
