Engineering Open House
Each year the College of Engineering and Mines hosts an engineering open house for the Fairbanks community. The open house takes place in conjunction with National Engineers Week, an annual event to increase public awareness and appreciation of engineers and their work. On February 28th, more than 900 came out for the open house. CESTiCC created a hot wheels derby for kids to experience transportation in an exciting way! Each child was given the opportunity to push the race car down the tracks and observe how the race car performed in different circumstances. Parents and children were also able to observe the layers that make up a road through a visual display built by undergrad student, Paul Eckman. Thank you to UAF College of Engineering and Mines and Flint Hills for sponsoring the Engineering Open House and thank you to our CESTiCC volunteers Paul Eckman and Patrick Ryan and West Valley High School student Simeon Ng.
