CESTiCC Continues to Support UAF Engineering Student Competition Teams
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) organizes nationwide student contests such as steel bridge competition and concrete canoe competition to test the knowledge and practicality of teams of university students in the field of Civil Engineering.
The UAF Steel Bridge Team has a long history of strong performance. The team puts in hundreds of hours dedicated to fabricating a nationally ranked lightweight, economical, and strong Steel Bridge. Last year, the team wrote history by placing 1st in all seven categories at the Regional Competition and continued on to take 9th at Nationals.
The UAF Concrete Canoe Team is entering into its third year of competition involvement. This over 30-year-old competition has well-established competitors, with team sizes reaching over 30 plus members. Last year, UAF’s seven-man Concrete Canoe team quickly became fierce competitors with effective adaptations and innovations, overall placing 4th in Regionals.
The UAF Ice Arch competition is an annual engineering, construction, and management project that has been a UAF tradition for nearly 50 years. This unique and long lasting tradition stretches the thinking and capability of future professionals.
CESTiCC is proud to continue to support these teams, our future leaders in Civil Engineering!
