Our project will quantify carbon sequestration rates by roadside vegetation and soils managed by the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT). We will estimate how much of MDT’s roadside acreage is available for active carbon management and evaluate which of three roadside management practices yield the greatest increase in carbon stores.
